Want a Kennedy minus the price and plus a tank?
By Drink D. on 12/10/2017
With the Kennedy style bottom airflow, and the adjustable top airflow, this device is a PERFECT starter or even average level RDTA. Coils are a breeze. I recommend getting claptons from a shop and having them install them; if you're technically competent, DIY. The room in the posts is massive, so many gauges can be selected from. Claptons seem to run the best. I tried Kanthal, but got too much burning. It has flawless construction, and everything is 24k gold-played aside from the chimney. I like the airflow options and the innovative tip. You cannot put any other tips in here like an 801, but you you don't really need it for a 24 mm tank like this. If you are, however, interested in an 801 for increased airflow, you can put the Goon V1 chimney and cap on this for an insane flavor and cloud experience. The flavor pops, and you can do extended 2 to 3 second draws for clouds. I recommend a completely closed top airflow for flavor, and various gradients of open on the top for clouds. I recommend 80/20 VGPG juice. I get a little spitting on extended hits with 70/30, but no noise or spit whatsoever from the tank on 80/20 liquids; no matter how long the draw. As a flavor RDTA, gotta give it a 9.5/10... as a cloud RDTA, around a 8/10. Wick to the top o'ring on the glass tank. Don't go lower, or you will get frustrated with dry hits. All in all, great RDTA. Even if you are advanced, you might want to pick it up for the flavor, look, and kennedy-style airflow when the top is closed. The gold chimney finish looks absolutely insane on a box mod with the same color scheme. The construction looks handcrafted almost: no machining marks and absolutely gorgeous gloss on all the parts that need it.

Gold and black editions are NOT the same as original Silver Alpine
By Kimberly on 2/27/2020
I was very excited for his rdta and the main reason I choose this one over the Gaia was it's looks. Particularly, the titanium screws that were blue. It looked so different from any other build deck I've seen. Well, I received my beautiful gold Alpine RDTA and I CAN'T take the tank section apart because it's so tight! My favorite part- the titanium screws are no longer anodized! So they are a matte silver. It also did not come with any type of instruction manual what so ever. I did some digging around and I think syntheicloud pushed out the release of the black and gold editions and changed things on the rdta. I'm really disappointed. I'm having trouble building on it. For some reason, I keep getting wandering ohms when I fire. No leads are touching the deck and the screws are down tight. This happened with three different builds. I checked the 510 pin and it was secured properly. Probably user error so I'm gonna keep trying to build on it. I've only had it for two days now. I hope I can get it working right so I can enjoy the amazing vape experience that people have claimed they had with the Alpine.
